Health Education England - Thames Valley (HEE-TV) in partnership with Oxford University and OUCAGS has 18 prestigious NIHR Academic Clinical Fellowships (ACFs) to offer as part of the NIHR Integrated Academic Training Pathway.

HEE-TV ACADEMIC CLINICAL FELLOW RECRUITMENT 2022

The support and advancement of clinical academic careers is highly valued within HEE-TV. In partnership with the University of Oxford, we have established the Oxford University Clinical Academic Graduate School (OUCAGS) to support Academic Clinical Fellows and other clinical academics in training.

Oxford’s world-leading biomedical and clinical research environment offers outstanding opportunities to combine comprehensive clinical, academic and research training for those with the ambition and motivation to shape the future of medicine. Our clinical academic training programmes are seeking highly motivated, enthusiastic applicants with the potential to excel in both their clinical and research training. Posts will commence in August/September/October 2022.

Application timetable and process

The timetable for Academic Clinical Fellowship Recruitment 2022 is as follows:

  • Applications Open: Friday 1st October 2021 
  • Applications Close: Wednesday 3rd November 2021 
  • Shortlisting & Interview Window: 7th November 2021 to 20th December 2021
  • Initial Offers Issued: 20th January 2022
  • Hold Deadline: 27th January 2022

Applications are through Oriel 2 which also has the most up-to-date job descriptions and person specifications. Some posts are attached to an NIHR priority research theme, this is explained in detail in the job description.

ACF interview dates will be made available on Oriel for each post.

Important notes for 2022

Please note: for 2022, in addition to the academic interviews, candidates will be required to attend and pass a clinical interview for the specialty they are applying to for academic training, if appropriate. Offers made will therefore be conditional upon meeting the required standard in the clinical interview.

Applicants who already hold a clinical NTN or DRN in the same specialty as their ACF application will not need to attend a clinical interview as they will already have met the required standard previously.
