how to apply for the Oxford Academic Specialised Foundation Programme (ASFP)

The Oxford ASFP offers over 20 places on the two-year training course. Application is through a national process. Please note our programme only offers research rather than medical education or management options.

A small number of places are also available on the standalone ASFP Year 2. These are open only to Foundation Year 1 doctors already in the Health Education Thames Valley.

Recruitment to the programme usually takes place from May each year, to start in August of the following year.

APPLYING for funds towards YOUR RESEARCH WHILST IN OXFORD

During an ASFP post you may require funding towards conference attendance and research expenses such as consumables.

Our ASFP doctors are eligible for OUCAGS funding towards conference and research expenses (see Our ASFP for details).
