The Doctor of Medicine (DM) degree has been redeveloped as a part-time, variable-rate doctoral programme of up to eight years’ duration. It is open to doctors employed in the NHS locally or by the University.

The degree will be academically comparable to a DPhil but, if still in training, DM students will be able to take significantly less time out from their clinical training to gain their doctoral qualification.

The first cohort of students in this redeveloped DM programme will start in Michaelmas Term 2023.

The application deadline for a 2024 start will be in early December 2023
