Dr Graham Blackman, OUCAGS NIHR Clinical Lecturer in Psychiatry, has been awarded a 5-year NIHR Post-Doctoral Fellowship.
Dr Blackman is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Senior Clinical Researcher in the Department of Psychiatry specialising in neuropsychiatric disorders. His post-doctoral fellowship will support a programme of research focused on improving the early assessment and management of first-episode psychosis, with the aim of improving clinical outcomes.
Dr Blackman’s interests include AI’s potential to predict diagnosis and outcomes in patients experiencing psychosis, with the aim of informing clinical care. In relation to this, he contributed, in 2025, to a government POSTnote (Parliamentary Office for Science and Technology) on AI and mental health care.
