© ThomasEckeDr Xin Hui Chan, OUCAGS Clinical Lecturer, has received the European Society of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID) Young Investigator Award (YIA) 2025. This is in recognition of her research accelerating the development and deployment of essential medicines for vector-borne infections.
The YIA award honours research excellence and fosters further work at a top scientific level through €5000 funding for professional development.
Dr Chan gave her prize lecture at the Young Investigator Award Session and officially received the YIA 2025 at the Opening Ceremony of the ESCMID Global 2025 congress in Vienna, Austria on 12 April.
Following on from the ESCMID YIA 2025, Dr Chan has also been named touchINFECTIOUS DISEASES Future Leader 2025. touchINFECTIOUS DISEASES, a global medical education provider, made the award in recognition of Dr Chan being a rising star in global health and infectious diseases research.
